I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.I just assumed that the Author would continue the story where it left off in Heir of Scars I, Part Three Mobility of Pawns, and it did for a while, but then, we are taken back to Adria's first months in the Aesidhe camp.
Sometimes flashbacks can kill a story or become too descriptive when the story is already in midstream with strong characters and a great story line, this is not the case here! The flashback in this story gives us such a deeper perspective into the life of the Aesidhe and their culture. As this story unfolds, you feel as if you are truly walking with Adria as she crosses the path from being a child to a woman. The awkwardness of starting her cycle, embarrassment in having to admit this is her first, the ceremony she is given and mostly the acceptance into her new life including a woman's name. Every time I read one of the books from this series I think the Author can not possibly pull me further in or move me more with his words. Then to my utter amazement I finish the book and see he once again has accomplished just that! He has opened up a world that I would truly love to be a part of. Introduced me to a people that I would find joy and happiness to be with. Again I hate to reference Tolkien but the world that this Author creates is so tangible you can taste it! Well done and I can not wait for more as trust me once you start this series you will not be able to put it down!
